We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Patrick Simons. Pat played in our league during several of our seasons since we formed in 2021, and has played softball with many of us all the way back to the LGBT+ and allied league in the area that preceded Oak City Softball League, as well as in other sanctions and tournaments through the years. Always ready with a friendly smile and a hug, Pat will be remembered as a kind person, a great softball player, and a supporter of this league (as evidenced by his "hearts" on our most recent social media posts, even though he didn't play this season); we will miss him tremendously. Our sincere condolences go out to his loved ones -- fly high, friend.
